Show Me What Democracy Looks Like started when a group of friends who are wedding photographers around the world were discussing ways to make more of a social impact with their photography, as well as delve more into photojournalism and photo essays to document the current political movements happening around us. In addition to each of us sharing images on our own blogs and social media, we thought a collective of several different photo essays and events would make a strong impression, reach a wider audience, and show the national and global movements of activism rather than focused on a singular region. Our goal with this project is to explore, document, and shine a light on political, social, environmental, and democratic activism happening at every level.
We welcome collaboration and diversity of voices and stories. If you would like to be a guest contributor for Show Me What Democracy Looks Like, please submit your project and photos here.
